- Series: The Message 2016
- Scripture: Matthew 27:45-66
This morning, as we near the end of our journey through the the Gospel of Matthew, our text brings us to the death of Christ and His burial. What is the significance of His death and burial? We often speak of our faith in the righteous works of Christ alone and that Christ is fully God & fully man.
He condescended to the sewage of a sinful world to save us. He took human form, lived sinlessly & willingly became sin in the garden of Gethsemane to crucify the sin of the garden of Eden. In doing so, He opened a door to God’s Holy presence by giving righteousness to all who believe!
The Apostle Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians 5:21, For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God. I pray your faith will be strengthened today as you seek to love a righteous and obedient life, for His glory alone.
In His Grace,
