Good Morning Brothers and Sisters in Jesus Christ!
This morning we will complete Romans1:1 with an examination of the last phrase “set apart for the Gospel of God.” #1 What does it mean to be set apart? #2 What is the Gospel? And #3 What does Paul mean by the Gospel of God? Shouldn’t he say the Gospel of Jesus Christ? These are important questions to consider as we find repeated and comforting themes throughout scripture.
#1. To be set apart is to be Holy, separated from the common, separated rom the world unto God. We cannot separate ourselves.
#2. The Gospel is the message of our sin and God’s grace, our wages and His gift. Jesus Christ came to seek and save the lost and to die as a substitute in our place to save all who believe and call upon His name. Is this Gospel Good News to you?
#3. The Gospel of God reminds us that the Gospel has always been a Trinitarian Gospel, separating us from all other religions. The church has always embraced the teachings of Christ that address God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
The Word of God is always full of rich and wonderful truths!
