Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Today we continue our journey in Romans chapter one. We have just worked through Paul’s greeting, which was rich with God’s truth. He first introduced himself as a servant, a called apostle, made holy, set apart, for the Gospel of God. The Gospel concerns His Son, who is both fully God and man.
Then Paul makes clear the reason for which he writes his epistle, for the obedience to the faith. He will make that clear in the following chapters. Paul was commissioned an apostle by Jesus, to teach us, the called, to obey everything Christ commanded. Then Paul finally greets the Romans and gushes with love for them reminding them of God’s love for them and their call to be saints. He reminds them the Gospel is given by God’s mercy –only by His Grace have they found peace with God.
Paul wants to preach this Gospel to the Romans and in today’s passage we see he reminds them it is for every tongue and every tribe, not the Jew alone. The Gospel breathes faith to life. The more we know it and breathe it the more blessed we are. I pray you will be blessed today by God’s Holy Word!
