Today we approach Paul’s second argument against the notion that His Gospel leads to a reckless regard toward sin. He anticipates the rationale by asking Romans 6:1 What shall we say then? Are we too continue in sin that grace may abound? …then proceeds to make his argument against it which introduces us to the doctrine of sanctification. Today, he asks the question again. Romans 6:15 What then? Are we to sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means! The whole question is predicated on the fact that the Good News is truly good news; His grace is greater than all our sin. It does mean exactly what he says it means! He sums it up in the final verse of the chapter. 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. May God continue to set you apart and makes you holy by the power of the Holy Spirit and His Word.
