This young convert was deeply impressed and determined to make these the rules of his life. From that day onward throughout his life he made it a rule to spend the first moments of his day alone with God and God's Word. Before he read a letter, looked at a paper or even read a telegram, he went first to the Bible, that the first impression of the day might be what he got directly from God.

Dear Brothers & Sisters,

Please welcome our dear brother Aaron Vogel, whom we affectionately call, Vogie!

He will be dividing God's Word for our fellowship this morning.  Take in the bread of life!

We are so proud of what God is doing through him for this church.  It's God working in us as the body of Christ!

Pray for him as he preaches and pray for Margaret and I as well,as we teach a group of young people in Oregon how to share the Gospel.

God is working in us because of Christ, to the praise of His glory!

Pastor John

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

This morning we’re taking a break from our study in 1 Corinthians.  Aaron Vogel, one of elders in training, is going to help us see the importance of the temple curtain and what it meant when it was torn after Jesus’ death on the cross.  What a beautiful truth and privaleage it is that God has made a way for us to be able to enter His holy presence and worship Him in spirit and in truth!  May we never take for granted his blessing that was paid for by our Savior’s blood.  I pray that you are encouraged today, as well as challenged, to live more for God’s glory, by His great grace!

Greetings Beloved Church,

Paul is writing to the Corinthians to correct the sin that had risen shortly after leaving to teach in Ephesus.  His first concern, among many, is the divisions that had formed among them.

This is a very Greek culture prone to arguing for favorite philosophers such as Socrates, Plato, Aristotle.  They would line up under philosophies like Stoicism or Epicurianism that opposed it.  The Corinthian church was suffering from being more worldly than the world.  They were at least as divisive as the Greek culture!

The questions then arise from the text today: 1. Are we prone to divide from the congregation and approach church as an individual? DO you seek a church to meet your needs or seek to meet the needs of others as a member of a body, devoted to one another in brotherly love. 2. Does your faith depend upon a human being rather than Christ alone?  Would your faith suffer if someone you admired had a moral failure or if your worship leaders and preacher no longer led worship or preached?

Let the Word dwell in you richly today my dear, dear brethren in Christ!

My prayer for you is that you will truly be given ears to hear, that you may not only hear the Gospel but repent of your sins and believe in Jesus Christ, that you might have eternal life and so glorify God forever!

May I have words to preach and may you have ears to hear by the Spirit’s power and in the name of Jesus.

Until We See Him Face To Face,

Pastor John
